What’s in a name?
Part of the 2015 Shimmertastic collection, it’s a moderate green meant to evoke an evergreen forest.
Swatches
A large swatch of ink showcases the darkest this ink gets, as well as the maximum properties it has (when held at the right angle to show any shimmer or sheen). But what about when you’re writing a letter or notes with it?
The above was written on Clairefontaine 90gsm paper, using a Fountain Pen Revolution Darjeeling fountain pen with a Flex nib.
Of course, for maximum effect you want to see it in light and in motion. The following video shows the ink swatched on Skylab Letterpress 160gsm cards.
Thoughts
This is such a gorgeous evergreen hue, with a moderate amount of silver shimmer. The Darjeeling gave me a little trouble as the shimmer settled, but I’ve mentioned before that all my FPR flex pens do, so I don’t think the jamming was to do with the ink at all (I really should see if someone can fix those for me).
It’s a semi-dry ink, and of course requires agitation with the amount of particulate in there. It’s not a blinding amount of shimmer, which makes this a potentially work-friendly ink, as well as working well for letters and art. The saturation is deep enough that it will be perfectly legible in an EF nib, though of course depending on the feed of said nib, it may clog with shimmer. I’m going to say it’s probably at its absolute best in a Stub nib. And on holiday cards.
*All pics and vid were taken using a Samsung Galaxy S22 and color-adjusted to best reflect the hue of that ink.
