Holidays in 2022 have been pretty rough for me. Auxientia LARP, though fun, exhausted me into a stupor on Beltane. I was too tired to do anything for Independence Day. I had COVID on my birthday (for 2 weeks). I had a pain hangover on Halloween (after weeks of chronic back pain and consequently low sleep). With Yule as my second-favorite holiday, I’m really hoping to get and stay in a joyous mood.
I’ll be celebrating the last hurrah of the year at Walt Disney World, for the week leading up to Christmas, so I want to hit that holiday high as soon as possible. To that end, I’ve made a holiday movie advent calendar!
I’ve written 22 holiday movie titles on individual cards and placed them in a festive box. Every day (that I’m home) in December, until and including Christmas day, I’ll pull a title out of the bowl (via Instagram, so you know I’m not cheating) to watch and Tweet about.
Got a favorite one not mentioned below? Let me know so I can add it to the list!
*Late additions: A Princess for Christmas, Christmas Joy, Serendipity, Christmas Inheritance, A Big Fat Family Christmas, The Bishop’s Wife, Pottersville, Christmas Full of Grace, Happiest Season
This is such a great idea! I love the idea of picking a movie a day! And actually I have not seen a lot of these. Serendipity is a favorite of mine- not a Christmas movie per se- but it’s set at Christmas time. And ooh White Christmas- that’s one of my favorite movies of all!
Thanks, Greg! A guy friend of mine in college had me watch Serendipity, but it was ages ago and I remember none of it. I’ll add it to the list!
I liked it but John Cusack and whats her name- just looked her up- Kate Bckinsale- were awesome
Okay but where is Eliza’s Christmas movie!? I think it is called… A Christmas Inheritance or something? Shannon Kook has one coming out too! I don’t actually like Christmas movies (can we still be friends though? Please?) so those are pretty much the only ones I know hah. Actually, does Mean Girls count? There’s a Christmas Pageant in there, yeah? OH While You Were Sleeping is a good one though! I actually saw AND liked that one! (Actually don’t get too mad, but that is the *only* one on your list that I have seen, whoopsie 😂)
Oh my gosh, how could I forget?! OK, I need to figure out where those are streaming. Ah, no worries- I have never seen Die Hard (and some consider that a crime), nor all of Elf, nor…well, most of the movies on this list, really! But I’ll add Eliza’s and Shannon’s movies!
