What’s in a name?
Part of Colorverse’s Joy in the Ordinary collection, this mid-tone violet ink celebrates the delight of an excellent night’s sleep. Why purple? Who knows. But I’m amused at ‘delicious sleep’ as an evocative and accurate description (albeit for a thing I haven’t had since I was a teenager).
Swatches
A large swatch of ink showcases the darkest this ink gets, as well as the maximum properties it has (when held at the right angle to show any shimmer or sheen). But what about when you’re writing a letter or notes with it?
The above was written on Clairefontaine 90gsm paper, using a Monteverde Strata fountain pen with a Medium nib.
Of course, for maximum effect you want to see it in light and in motion. The following video shows the ink swatched on Skylab Letterpress 160gsm cards.
Thoughts
This ink has a moderately wet flow and would work well in any sized nib. The shading wasn’t overly dramatic, but it was enough to be visible when you look closely at a paragraph. This is one of those very versatile inks that works great for letter writing, taking notes, doodling, and pretty much any other use you have for it. Colorverse makes some rock-solid, reliable inks and Delicious Sleep is no exception.
*All pics and vid were taken using a Google Pixel 4a and color-adjusted to best reflect the hue of that ink.
